The Resiliency Matrix is recognized as an innovative tool that is improving care and impact

There are so many incredible nonprofits across our province that are making a difference in the lives of Albertans and the Alberta Nonprofit Innovation Awards is shedding light on the important work done by this sector.

In early October, CUPS was honoured to attend the award gala and to have been chosen as one of the three winners for our Resiliency Matrix! The Resiliency Matrix is making a difference in our community. This Brain Story-based assessment tool helps identify what support people need and how effective that support is over time. With it, we are better able to break cycles of poverty and trauma and build lasting resilience. Learn more in this video.

The awards celebrate nonprofit professionals and organizations across Alberta who have challenged the status quo and inspired others with creative and disruptive solutions to address enduring community challenges. How were the winners chosen? They exemplify creativity and innovation through new models of organizational effectiveness, collaboration and program delivery. They increase impact and address systems-level gaps. They create an inspiring picture of the future and empower others to have a positive impact on the community. Bottom line: they are making a tangible difference.

We’re proud that the Resiliency Matrix was recognized for making an impact. It was an amazing night and inspiring to be among such an incredible group of nonprofits. Congratulations to the other winners, Goodwill Industries of Alberta and Fresh Routes - two organizations making a real impact in our province - and to all the other amazing finalists: Aspen Family, Centre for Newcomers, Give a Mile, Immigrant Services Calgary, Indefinite Arts, Land Stewardship Centre and the Shared Intake & Referral Program partners: The Brenda Strafford Centre, Discovery House, and Sonshine Community Services!

Thank you to the Calgary Chamber of Voluntary Organizations for hosting, and the presenting sponsor, our awesome community partner, Cenovus Energy.
